Stand with Us: Demand Justice for the Cats Killed in a Trash Compactor
Two cats were callously killed in a trash compactor by Jayco RV employees. Yet felony cruelty charges were dismissed. Together, we’re urging Prosecuting Attorney Becker to reconsider this decision and ensure Indiana’s animal cruelty laws are upheld. Add your name in support of justice!

Dear Prosecutor Becker,
We are deeply troubled by your office’s decision to dismiss felony animal cruelty charges against two Jayco RV employees who killed cats by placing them in a trash compactor.
Excusing this conduct on the grounds of “property damage” or by comparing cats to trapped wildlife is a dangerous misinterpretation of Indiana law. Cats are not disposable objects, nor are they wild furbearing animals under state statutes. They are sentient beings who feel fear and pain. This interpretation undermines the very purpose of Indiana’s animal cruelty laws and threatens the humane values of the community you serve.
We respectfully urge you to reconsider your decision and uphold the law’s true intent: to prevent unnecessary suffering and protect the most vulnerable members of our community.
