Ag-Gag Hurts Animals

Millions of farmed animals like pigs, chickens, and cows, suffer and die behind closed doors every year in the United States. There are no federal laws governing the conditions in which these animals are raised. Standard practices such as removing testicles, tails, and beaks without anesthesia, extreme confinement, and grinding up male chicks alive are legal.

Undercover investigations and whistleblowers have exposed some of the worst aspects of factory farming, but Ag-Gag laws punish people who speak out about cruelty in animal agriculture. Ag-Gag laws criminalize undercover investigations by animal advocates and journalists at factory farms and slaughterhouses.

Voice your opposition to Ag-Gag laws by signing our “Ag-Gag Hurts Animals” Petition.

Ag-Gag laws wrongly criminalize exposing animal cruelty. These unconstitutional laws are deliberate attempts to hide animal cruelty, food safety, workers’ rights, and environmental violations from the American public. I oppose all forms of Ag-Gag laws.
