Stand Up for Puerto Rico Zoo’s Animals

Puerto Rico’s only zoo is not a safe place for animals. With too few employees (and too little training) as well as unsanitary and inadequate enclosures, the roughly 150 animals there are in desperate need of help.

Please sign the petition below to help close the zoo and find these animals new homes.

I am deeply concerned about the conditions at the Dr. Juan A. Rivero Zoo in Mayagüez, where roughly 150 animals, including many endangered species, are currently living in inhumane conditions. These animals deserve homes that are equipped to give them the best lives possible. I support permanently closing the zoo to ensure that no more animals languish and die there.

Please work with the Animal Legal Defense Fund to move these animals to new homes that can better meet their unique needs.
