Open Letter to Craigslist
I am writing to urge Craigslist to ban the posting of all animals on your platform immediately.
While I was pleased to see that Craigslist has banned the sale of animals, animal abusers are still taking advantage of a Craigslist loophole that allows for “re-homing” of animals. Animals are being sold on Craigslist to people who may intend to do them harm. Evidence suggests that animals traded over the platform might very well become victims of dogfighting or other types of cruelty.
Animals are living, feeling beings who should be treated accordingly, not sold online like a used couch or television. In order to protect animals, please ban the posting and sale of all animals on Craigslist. Thank you for your consideration.
