Petition to Congress to end cruel mink fur farming in the U.S.
Dear Members of Congress:
As your constituent, I am asking you to swiftly address the cruelty of mink farms and the public health threat that these farms pose.
Farms that raise animals for fur keep mink and other animals in deplorable, inhumane conditions, only to kill them in equally horrific ways. Mink are crammed together in makeshift containers then gassed to death. Any that survive may have their necks broken or be skinned alive. Fur farms often confine thousands of animals to small barns or cages. Sanitation is typically poor, and veterinary care is almost nonexistent.
These conditions are breeding grounds for diseases that spread to humans. Federal action to shut down mink farms is vital for public health. It’s also the right thing to do for the innocent animals who are ruthlessly killed for their fur. Please act now to end mink farming in the U.S.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
